Anti-Cheat Rules (Tab-Switching & Violations)
What counts as a violation, strike system, and device bans in Exam Center.
Two separate things protect Exam Center integrity: in-exam violations (leaving the exam tab) and the one-device rule (which prevents one person running multiple accounts).
In-Exam Violations (Exam Center Only)
These apply only to Exam Center — Module Tests show a warning but don't end your session.
What Counts as a Violation
- Switching to another browser tab or window
- Alt+Tab / Cmd+Tab away from the browser
- A phone call or notification that takes focus (mobile)
- Opening a second tab to the same exam
What Doesn't Count
- Scrolling within the exam page
- Using the on-page calculator, math tables, or answer sheet toggle
- Keyboard zoom shortcuts
What Happens on a Violation
Zero tolerance. A single tab switch ends your exam immediately — there are no strikes or warnings inside the exam itself.
- A violation is detected and a warning screen opens right away.
- Your session ends — answers up to that point are lost.
- You're sent back to the Dashboard.
The One-Device Rule, In Brief
