Sharing a Chat
Creating a public link to one of your Epis conversations.
How to Share
Open the chat you want to share, from the sidebar or Backpack → Chats.
Click "Share" at the top-right of the chat.
Generate a link — you'll get a public share link.
Copy or send it to anyone — no account needed to view it.
What Recipients See
- Public view — No login required
- Full history — All messages up to share moment
- Epis responses — Formatted with markdown, code blocks, math
- Clone button — "Continue in my account" → clones session to their account (requires login)
- Live updates — If you keep chatting, the shared link reflects new messages
Share Modal Features
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Copy Link | Copies URL to clipboard |
| Share (Web Share API) | Opens native share sheet (mobile) |
| Download | Saves chat as .md file |
| Close | Dismisses modal |
Cloning a Shared Chat
Recipient clicks "Continue in my account" → if logged in, creates a new chat in their account with the same message history. They can then continue chatting with Epis. If not logged in, redirects to login first.
Cloned session is independent — your future messages don't appear in their clone, and vice versa.
Managing Shares
- No dashboard to list/revoke shares yet (Coming Soon)
- To "unshare", you'd need to delete the chat (Chat Sidebar → Menu → Delete or Backpack → Chats → Delete) — breaks the link
- Share links don't expire
Permissions
- Anyone with link — views read-only
- Clone — requires their own PastpaperLM account
- Your original — unaffected; you keep full edit/chat access
