Sharing a Chat

Creating a public link to one of your Epis conversations.

How to Share

Open the chat you want to share, from the sidebar or Backpack → Chats.

Click "Share" at the top-right of the chat.

Generate a link — you'll get a public share link.

Copy or send it to anyone — no account needed to view it.

What Recipients See

  • Public view — No login required
  • Full history — All messages up to share moment
  • Epis responses — Formatted with markdown, code blocks, math
  • Clone button — "Continue in my account" → clones session to their account (requires login)
  • Live updates — If you keep chatting, the shared link reflects new messages

Cloning a Shared Chat

Recipient clicks "Continue in my account" → if logged in, creates a new chat in their account with the same message history. They can then continue chatting with Epis. If not logged in, redirects to login first.

Cloned session is independent — your future messages don't appear in their clone, and vice versa.

Managing Shares

  • No dashboard to list/revoke shares yet (Coming Soon)
  • To "unshare", you'd need to delete the chat (Chat Sidebar → Menu → Delete or Backpack → Chats → Delete) — breaks the link
  • Share links don't expire

Permissions

  • Anyone with link — views read-only
  • Clone — requires their own PastpaperLM account
  • Your original — unaffected; you keep full edit/chat access
